heirloomoriginals
I have made a few batches of CP and none of them gelled. I made the kitchen soap yesterday and sat it on the coal burner to cook for a bit. It was covered with cardboard, a towell and an old rug. It did gel after a bit of time (at least 3-4 hours). I uncovered it this morning and it still looked like it was in gel. Should I have left it a bit longer? I unmolded and cut it and it is very soft and still pretty transluscent. Can it be saved????Here are some pics:
Gene
Sound as though it was still in gell stage. Give it time, it will still be soap.
cmille3
Was it cool when you cut it? I think you should just give it some time to hang out. It should be fine in about 6 weeks.
mountainmadness
If you used a FO with honey in it, it may have overheated. It is still usable but may look odd.Like everyone else said, give it some time before you give up on it.I have never liked my soaps to gel so I do not insulate. Sometimes it still happens though with some FO.
Michi
Can't see your soap in the pics. it's all pixellized looking to me!! ????Maybe this recipe/batch will just take a bit longer?
heirloomoriginals
I think it will be okay. It was cool when I cut it. Next time I won't let it go through gel.Steph
pixie*dust
Sounds like it should be ok, more like it went through a partial gel instead of a full gel. I have had a few soaps do that to me as well.. pix
