where to start

Hi all,

Right now I only make candles, but I love reading your posts about B&B. I've done a search but can't find any basic instructions for anything - maybe I am just missing it or searching the wrong things. Personally, I love those fizzy balls for the tub - I have no idea how hard or easy they are to make, or what is a typical thing to start with and work up from. If someone could point me to a good starting point, I would love it!

TIA

When I started with B&B, I tried M&P soap, whipped shea butter, and lotion bars. Those were a good beginning for me. Lip balms also aren't too hard. Scrubs aren't too bad. Bath bombs would rank next in difficulty for me.

With emulsified products such as lotions/creams, and lye soapmaking, there is a bit of a steeper learning curve. Those are probably the most challenging from my point of view.

HTH, and happy B&Bing! :)

I started with CP and have been adding items that I can make out of the CP ingredients, plus a few extras like FCO. It all depends on what interests you. I also started making pillars before anything else in candlemaking. I guess I always pick the hard stuff to start with

I agree. Except for the bath bombs:embarasse I finally gave up with excuse to myself that it's this darn Florida humidity. Puffed up crater lookin things that they were.
