Now that Eugenia has so thoughtfully posted her kitchen soap I am now wondering about Gardeners soap. Is there an ingredient that is needed for this soap or just your ordinary recipe. I read something about tomato juice but cant remember which one it was for:tiptoe: Anyone help my "no working' brain?

2 oz. wheat germ oil

15 oz water

5.8 oz. lye

2 oz. sweet orange EO

1 oz. lemon EO

.5 oz. grapefruit EO

.5 oz. lime EO

1 oz powdered or fine granular dried like zest

Soap at 100 degrees. Add EO's and lime zest at trace. Cure 2-4 weeks.

Basil and Sundried Tomato Soap

18 oz. coconut oil

6 oz. palm

12 oz. olive oil

4 oz. jojoba oil

1 oz. basil EO

1 oz. dry packed sundried tomatoes, finely chopped

This is another one I'd like to do eventually.... anybody use Fuller's Earth Clay?? I've read that's good for dirt and grease, that its got lots of cleaning power - is this true?? Its sounds like it would be another good ingredient for the gardener's soap.

BTW, what benefit does tomato juice bring to the table (or sink) :grin2: ?? I think I've read that before (tomatoe juice in gardener's soap) but can't remember the benefit or if even there was an explaination.
