CareBear
Anyone ever try this? Just curious. It costs $10 from http://www.ellensessentials.com/bathbomb.htm Precision 2" Round Tablet Maker (Wrap-able with 5x5 foils) Foil Wrapping Instructions

CareBear
For bath bombs - did it make nice neat "tablets"? Were they as hard as (dense, that is) the meatballer ones? Harder?Tnx
Crafty1
it made a nice tablet that harden just as it would of as a ball.
cmille3
That's similar to the press I got from www.soapwizards.com.I love it and I'm bath bomb challenged.
Laura
wouldn't something like pvc and a thick dowel do the same?
CareBear
yup - i think so - just get close fit
Ruby
Yes!! I have this one and I love it! Makes the bombs uniform and neat. I weigh out the loose product in a small paper cup to be sure they all the same size first tho. HTH Ruby
Crafty1_AJ
I am soooooo itching to try one of these. Anyone tried both and can compare? Must ... have ... tablet ... bath bomb ... press!
ladysj
I was thinking the same thing with the pvc and a dowel rod. Will have to check Home Depot on this. Sure seems like it would be cheaper to do it that way lol
Carrie
I would try soapwizards before I'd try Ellensessentials. I just bought that press from her. It was 2 weeks from date of order before it was shipped and she wouldn't answer any emails. I'll never order from elensessentials.com again!I like the press but the customer service left a lot to be desired. Also, on my confirmation I was charged I think $9.95 for shipping (no handling) when I got the package shipping was only $7.??. The shipping amount was on the label. koala-nut
Rj's has some that are cheaper. They are called Tap-a-Mold. The regular is 2oz ($7.50). The junior is 1 1/2oz ($7.00). Work great.Tammy
idahospud
I have the same one from RJ's and love it. No more cracked bombs. I have retired my meatballer.

Crafty1_AJ
You guys have been very helpful; thanks so much! I was going to post questions about these tablet makers, but did a search first and found this thread to rip off instead. LOL
CareBear
Keep looking - Eugenia has tremendous difficulty (poor thing) with the tablet makers. Had me in stitches while I was feeling very sorry for her!But many seem to love them!

jwahlton
AJ why not just use a measuring cup?
Crafty1_AJ
Well actually I've used muffin tins successfully before. I just wanted a tablet that was the same width top to bottom.
storm35
Never seen anything like that here in the UK.Chrisxx
Carol M
I had read a thread about these before, not sure if it was on this board, though. Someone had said that they use PVC pipe and a dowel, but that the clear ones were better, because you really need to be able to see the mixture inside, to make sure it's being tapped down evenly all the way around. I'd like to have one of these myself; I've given up on the ball-shaped ones.:undecided
idahospud
My pipe isn't clear, but I pre-measure my mixture to 2.5 oz. before I put it in the tube, then I tap it hard 3 times, and then push out the tablet. Nice and uniform and they all weigh the same.
TerriWV
My pipe isn't clear, but I pre-measure my mixture to 2.5 oz. before I put it in the tube, then I tap it hard 3 times, and then push out the tablet. Nice and uniform and they all weigh the same.Me too, except I hammer mine about 6 or 7, maybe 9 or 10 ( ) times. They are nice and solid when I get done with them. And usually do not have any "left overs".I do have a small meatballer, and have made a few with it, but the tablets are so easy to do.
