maryann
WOW did I speak too soon with Pink Sugar the other day :rolleyes2. The First batch (on the left) I did I used TD and put in the frig so it wouldn't gel. 2nd batch (on the right) I did, I added a few more oz of FO than the first, and forgot the TD. I saw it turning within a few minutes of pouring in the mold and I ran outta lye, so I called my trusty Lye Supplier (my DH works at Lowes) to bring some more home. I left the 2nd batch on the counter uncovered and added the pink layer (unscented) about 2 hrs later and put it in the oven for a few hours. I got lucky as they did come together w/out any problems. I plan to try a 3rd batch and use the same method as batch #1 to see how that turns out. Does anyone know if adding additional heat (oven) to batches that the FO changes the soap brown, adds to the batch being browner (does that make sense??)My DH didn't like my "P" "S" for Pink Sugar , I even went out today and got fancy script letters to make the "P" and "S". thecandlespastore
I cant see it too clearly but it did turn brown? It looks lovely. I am soaping it tonight, just gotta clean my soaping area. I hope I can get my white swirls down pat and they go right through. I like the P S, but I can see where he is going with it though..... maryann
If you look at the soaps on the right, the bottom 1/2 is dark brown ~that's from the Pink Sugar FO. The pink tops are unscented that's why they are still pink. GL, can't wait to see your pics .

countrysoaper
i just love the "think of you" that is so unique! I can't wait to start soaping again, but I have to wait until the back surgery is done. by that time, it will be built up so much I won't be able to stop! Brenda
Neat soaps! You are on a pink sugar roll. I never thought of not letting the pink sugar batches gel.....great idea! Please let us know how you fare with this experiment. The Thinking of You stamp is a nice touch. (Idea: You might try overlapping the the P and the S slightly when you stamp the soap. Your husband might like it - like a fancy monogram.)
Tara
Those look great Maryann!! Better than mine looked. I love your stamps too.
heirloomoriginals
I like the second one better. It is nice to actually see some "pink" in it since it is in the name. I wish the vanillas didn't turn brown!Steph
eugenia
I like them a lot Maryann. As for the browning, they will darken over time by themselves but I think the oven cook speeds that process. I have vanillas that look like fudge by the time they are finished darkening.
soapmom25
I didn't even notice the brown at first until I re-read your posts and looked again! All I saw was the pretty pink on top and the neat stamp In the photo where you can see the side of the bar the pink & brown remind of coconut layered candy I used to get at my grandma's house when I was a kid LOL
