Monoi % in Soap

I've used Starville's High Maint. successfully I think. You have that very bar coming to you in your single bar swap. ;) I don't think it covers it up, but it does compliment it quite well.

I'm thinking of CPing it with Goddess too actually. I just can't decide how much monoi to use in the batch. Generally I use 10% and load it up with mango and shea too.

I haven't done a dern thing with mine LOL (bad hostess - just had to have it... just had to run a freakin' coop!!)

I thought I remembered reading on Olive Branch's site that to "officially" be called a Monoi soap, it has to have a min. of 30% monoi in it... that's if you give a hoot and really wanna use the officially neato tiare de tahiti label and all... may be a good marketing tool.

Well, I went with 25%... It's set up to be soaped right after the Raspberry Lemonade from ICS.

Prior to this, I tried to soap SNC's Blue Skies... I didn't know it was an accelerated FO... I literlly crammed what was supposed to be a two color swirl into a mold with my gloved hands, in chunks then beat it into submission in the mold. This one should be interesting.

My BEST EVER has almond BUTTER, avocado OIL, hemp BUTTER, monoi 45%, olive and sunflower. LOVE it!!!! Monoi is nice nice nice. Monoi, coconut, palm kernel, babassu are all cleansing oils. I have found using less lye (say 8 or 9%) is often better for those who experience dryness with coconut and the like.

:D

Anhoki, what other oils did you use? The Monoi is really "cleansing" right? I'm thinking it would make for a harsh bar, but since so far I've made one unimpressive batch of soap I cannot say I know anything at all !

By superfatting to 8% or 9% is that the same as soaping the coconut at the lower SAP? Does it work out the same?
