SoapInTheCity
Here is my Citrus Calendula soap made with Grapefruit & Sweet Orange Essential Oils. The Calendula was steeping in the olive oil for probably a good 2 months! I've been meaning to make it!!!! This soap turned out perfectly. CareBear
Gorgeous! What are the bits?
SoapInTheCity
They are the Calendula Flowers. Calendula has antiseptic and astringent properties. Calendula is a remedy for the skin, providing effective treatment for most minor skin problems. Calendula can be used as a first aid remedy for cuts, scrapes and wounds; for red and inflamed skin, including minor burns and sunburn; for acne and many rashes. Calendula is very helpful for diaper rash.

CareBear
Absolutely cool. Would calendula be a good thing to infuse for my "hands and heels" balm for cracked fingers and heels?
SoapInTheCity
Absolutely! Here is a great website about Calendula and all it's uses!I infuse olive and grapeseed oil with many herbs including Calendula for my herbal salves. http://www.herbs2000.com/herbs/herbs_calendula.htm

CareBear
In my quest for knowledge, and my quest for a white soap - what combo of oils did you use to get such a nice color?
SoapInTheCity
I added the slightest bit of beige mica to the soap. Palm & Coconut Oils, Olive Oil.....a few others but it may have been the unrefined yellow shea butter that did it. I used it at 5%. As well the calendula that had been steeping in the olive oil was a bit yellowish due to the coloration of the flower petals.
CareBear
Well, whatever you did I ABSOLUTELY love the look! I haven't worked with the yellow shea, though I have a pound of it from somewhere.
