divayoki
Hi all,I have been a member of this board for a few months and I love reading your posts and seeing all of your pix. Thanks for sharing! Like many of you, I started out with M&P earlier this year and bought all of the supplies for CP but it took me a while to get the confidence. This is my 2nd batch of CP ever and my 2nd swirl attempt (yea I jumped the gun, my 1st batch and tried it:grin2: ) anywho the pastel colored batch is Citrus energy bar e/o used and the purple one is scented with Drakkar f/o. thankshttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/2ndswirlattempt.jpghttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/citrus-swirl.jpghttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/swirl-side.jpghttp://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k223/divayoki/drakkar-swirl.jpg
mbrown
Your soap looks just fabulous. I am going to play with soap this weekend. Maybe I will get lucky and create something just as nice. My soaps always turns out good but I am just a little challenged when it come to coloring and swirling. This is something I have to work on. Great Job
Carrie
Personally, I love what ash does to a swirl. Most of my swirl soaps ash and I like it. For some reason, my solid color soaps rarely ash.Nice swirls, congrats on your soaps.
divayoki
Hey guys, thanks for the comments. Carrie, I didn't know what to make of the ash in the white portion of the swirls. Does it eventually go away, is this a normal part of the curing process?
elitenaildesign
Those look so great. I can't wait to make some more(out of lye)

Scented
Pretty swirls. I've just been cutting off the ash I get. It doesn't ever seem to go away.
divayoki
good to know scented. They do look a little better since I cleaned them up. Practice, practice, practice. I have not been in the mood to make anything this week since it has been so hot, no A/C @ home is brutal. :undecided

CareBear
Ash. Grrrrr. Some have ways to avoid it, but they don't seem to work for everyone. Not peeking for 24 hours is one. Covering with saran wrap so it touches the surface is another, as is covering with saran wrap NOT touching the surface. High levels of cocoa butter are supposed to be a good thing (or is that backward?).It won't go away. Some wash it off, scrape it off, trim it off, polish it off....I'm at the point where I now.... "Embrace the ASH"Ohm.......
dixylight
Since I have stopped peeking until 24 hours has come up I have no more ash...but this could just be a coincidence too.:undecided Lovely swirls there!
