CareBear
Haven't the foggiest about the crock pot - but trust me that you don't need it since the whole thing is ready to be cut in about an hour - two max.Mix your oils, add in your lye soln. Once the oils & lye are emulsified, add in the salt (equivalent weight to your oils). Pour it into the mold and set in a 170-175 degree oven for 1-2 hours. When it's firm, pull it out and unmold. You will probably want to cut it while it's still quite warm, cause as it cools it gets really hard and wll just crumble or break.
Carrie
Crock Pot? Carol, you may want to refresh your memory here.Yes, CPOP, Cold Process Oven Process, can be done with salt bars. The salt is added at trace, I believe. CarolGrant is right about the cutting while still hot. Wear gloves.
Meridith
I've only done cpop salt bars once and made the mistake of not getting them out in time. They were hard as a rock. Now the next time I make these, I know to not let them sit in the oven for too long.
