what did i do wrong?

i made soap awhile ago and when i added lye at 110 degrees and then fo i ended up with mashed potatos. how can some make such smooth soap when i get goop? i do cpop. maybe i need to try cp what is the difference besides cure time. i hate to wait. any help would be great.

I agree it is usually the fo that makes soap thick like mashed potatoes or too many solid oils. Maybe post your recipe with the fo you used. Did you discount the water perhaps. It could be a number of things. If you can just bring your soap to trace and pour in molds while it is still pourable then place in the oven.

There's no difference between CP & CPOP except you're putting the CP into the oven, thus the OP part. Also, all you're doing with the OP part is ensuring gel. You still need to wait for the full cure time (4-6weeks) to get a good bar of soap both with CP and CPOP
