LovelyLathers
I made one with emu oil that is great. Nice and moisturizing and stays on very nice. It is recipe 4 at the bottom of the page. You may want to cut back the eos for a child. I think the fact it has emu is enough that you may not need the eos or maybe just a drop of tea tree. I cut the recipe in half and now I wish I didn't because it is wonderful. HTH Suehttp://www.lemelange.com/lip_balm_recipes.htm
Crafty1_AJ
If she licks them a lot, I'm thinking oils alone will pretty quickly say bye-bye. Castor is a nice emollient oil though. I would think something with a decent amount of wax (beeswax, candelilla, carnauba) would be your only hope. Not familiar with using lanolin in lip balms, but perhaps that could help. Smacky
I really like babassu butter in lip balms.
sudsnwicks
If she licks them a lot, you might want to consider making it unflavored. This would cut down on the licking as there is nothing to taste, and would make it last longer and be more effective.
Carrie
Yeah, that's what I thought. I made unflavored lip balm for a friends daughter that had the big red circle all around her mouth from licking. She used the lip balm and told her it was medicine and not to lick it off and she didn't. LOL...They won't lick the medicine. It would probably be more effective with the tea tree oil as it tastes icky.
