Alajane
In one of the M&P soap swaps, someone used sea clay in her bar and I absolutely loved it! So I ordered some and it should arrive today--now what?? The website instructions said: Add 1 Tablespoon per pound of soap. Before adding to the soap, you may need to mix this with a small amount of water to prevent clumping. Can I do that with M&P--add water, I mean? These instructions may be for CP. I hadn't read that part and just ordered because I liked the soap in the swap so much and that was M&P.TIA for any insight you can give!Jane
ChrisR
Those are directions for CP soap. For M&P try adding the clay to a small amount of melted M&P and whisking it good to get the lumps out, then add it to your main batch. I wouldn't add too much as it may affect your lather. Good luck!!
Alajane
Chris, thanks for the info! So do you think the 1 tablespoon per pound would be too much?
Tracey
I think you are okay with the 1 tbsp per pound. I use clay in my gardener's soap and mechanics soap and it does take some mixing to get the lumps out, but it works wonderfully.....Tracey
Alajane
Thanks so much--so what's the advantage of clay in those soaps? DH and I both liked it for our faces because we both have very oily skin.Jane
