Rachel D.
Hello, I really want to start making candles but I am so confused by all the lingo of the candle makers and I don't know what products to try. I wanted to start out with container candles of various scents. Could someone please give me some advice on what to try or just what I need to know, I am soo excited to do this!!! Thanks, Rachel D. topofmurrayhill
A starter kit can be an easy and educational way to get your feet wet and make very good candles in the process. If you tell us what part of the country you're in, we can point you to suppliers who have high quality kits. But off the bat you could consider the ones from Peak:http://www.peakcandle.com/Merchant2/merchant.mv?Screen=CTGY&Store_Code=PCMS&Category_Code=KIT
rachf19
Your best bet is to get a kit (includes eveything that you need to get started) from a reputable supplier. Find a supplier close to you, as shipping on wax and glass containers can get expensive. You can look here: http://www.candleandsoapstuff.com/Suppliers_by_State.html for a supplier in your state, or close to your state.HTH, and good luck! Welcome to your newest addiction! Rsvlbrat
Starter kit would be the way to go. Peaks is a good source!

Scented
Read the board and the FAQ for a wealth of knowledge and to help pick up the lingo. There happens to be a list of suppliers in those links as well, easily spotted at the top of this section, marked as a sticky or in red etc.And start gradual. It's easy to get carried away with all the FOs out there. Might want to be sure this is really something you want to do before investing your savings etc.

In case you didn't find it!http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=698You should have lot's of selection in or near ohio. I know Natures Garden is in Ohio and I believe they have several different kits. I can't think off the top of my head which others are in Ohio but I'm pretty sure there are several.
