Salt City Soapworks
A foaming lotion sugar scrub? Never heard of it. Interesting concept, though - it exfoliates and cleanses AND moisturizes? Are you making it from scratch? If so, the Herbarie has many mild surfactants that would cleanse and foam without overpowering the moisturizing properties.
TexasBrat
Buy some Foaming Bath Butter and add some sugar and that should make what you want. http://www.kangarooblue.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=198http://www.chemistrystore.com/foaming_bath_butter.htm
KristinesShower
I've seen sugar scrubs that were oil based and when the water hit them they foamed up - is that what you mean? I am not sure of a definite recipe, but I know there is baking soda and citric acid in there. You have to be really careful formulating something like that though, otherwise you could have exploding jars all over the place (and that's no fun!) sawyer's moon
Or you can make a scrub and include slsa for some foaming/bubbling action.Jen
Hibiscus
It's really easy and I am going to suggest that you take a moment and really think about it cause I don't want to share my recipe:laugh2:
mizbizzyb
I'm just a lurker on this end.....but would FBB work for this? Okay...I'm going back to candlemaking...lol
Carrie
I would say to use a sugar scrub recipe and add SLSa to it for some bubbles. FBB would be easier but I hate the smell of it so I don't use or recommend it.

WYJen
I make mine with FBB too. I take the FBB, sweet almond oil, FO and a TON of sugar.
AmySue
Never seen nor heard of a "foaming" sugar scrub, but boy do I love sugar scrubs. Let me know if you figure it out and have some for sale.
beloved
I know of an e-tailer that has something like this. I love her scrubs and would love to figure out how to make some of my own.I believe she takes a foaming bath cream base and whipped sugar into it, adding in some oils and such.If you want to check her out it's www.isleofeden.com
chunky_butt_candles
Hi,I know this is an old thread, but I was wondering something. If you were to add some lotion base to FBB how would you add it to the ingredients list. I'm guessing I would have to add the whole lotion base ingredients to it as well?? Which would make for a heck of a long ingredients list. I hope this makes sense lolThanks!Mandy
beesweet
Yes, you would have to add the entire lotion ingredient listing as well. Without knowing the percentage of the FBB ingredients, it would be difficult to put them in the proper order. I wouldn't even know where to add just the oils into the list. Jami
There are actually some emulsified sugar scrub recipes floating around. I use them all the time and LOVE them. I do add SLSa to mine for a little foaming action but when you add the SLSa it does reduce the "lotion factor" a little.I personally don't care much for the foaming bath butter. No matter what I do to it, it dries my skin out but others love it.
ladysj
I agree with Jami I tried making some with the SLSA and cocoa butter. It was great but it set up a little too stiff for me. I'm going to try it again using less ewax if I use the cocoa butter or try it with shea or mango. It feels great though. The FBB always dries me out as well. Michi
Yep, FBB is really super drying IMO. I have really "normal" skin, where most things do not affect me, ya know? But the FBB AND the SLSA dry me out something fierce! I'd rather use CP soap to "clean" and then use an emulsified sugar scrub to exfoliate and moisturize at the same time. beesweet
I'm with Michi...both dry me out and sometimes cause an itchy rash. I'm a soap and scrub kinda gal too.
