kalamazoo
Very pretty looking mottles and your first "wow". One of the best tips I got off this board when starting was to keep notes of everything, pour temps, colours used etc. So keep on taking notes and making beautiful candles like that. Scented
Thanks. It looks strawberryish from this end so I wouldn't have guessed burgandy. I will have to play
Henryk
Thank -You all for the very nice compliments. The wax i used is from http://candlesandsupplies.com called 141 mp wax votive/pillar paraffin.Mottle's nicely w/out additives, but i put 3tbls of sterine in it anyway. The pour temp i used on the first batch was around 180-190. More 190. The second batch the temp was 200. I think i'll make a third batch today and see how they come out and write it down this time in my candle log.:smiley2:Tried to PM you but couldn't because you weren't around here for 30 days yet I don't think, so I just wanted to say thanks for letting me know the wax you used for your mottles - that first set is perfect IMO! Its interesting that the second set really didn't mottle. Wonder what was different - just the pour temp? I think the bubbles are from a hot pour temp so maybe that was it. I know I got some REALLY different mottling depending upon the FO - it has a lot to do with it. I didn't know if you used the same FOs in both batches or not so just thought I'd mention it. (http://www.candletech.com/forums/showthread.php?t=27261)I never tried the c&s wax - maybe I'll have to give it a try. (I have so many different paraffins here I haven't even had time to use yet - oh well, whats one more?
