Kymber
I want to order some of the higher dollor scents for some of my CP soap.....Like a Few from Scent Works. I have which ones I want to try picked out but my question is.........how much do you use per pound of oils? I am going to give a couple of the MMS ones a try this weekend and they are recommending 1/4 to 1/2 oz per pound. I don't want to order a bunch in as I just want to give them a test drive....so If I ordered 1oz sizes I can expect to do how big of a batch? I know it is a matter of testing to see what works for you...or how strong you want it and all that....I am just looking for an average starting point so I know if I should order 1oz or 4 oz. I prefer to do about 3# test batches. TIA!!
Scented
Well I like strong so inevitably I am between .7 oz and 1 oz pp in my batches.

Kymber
Well I like strong also...I want to smell like the soap I am using! Ok so I better order 4oz to start.......
TexasBrat
For my 1oz samplers I always make a 2lb batch. It all depends on where I bought my oils from if the soap comes out super strong or not. If I like it then I buy more and then would add more to the batch next time accordingly. Kaybee23
I usually use .7 pp, but have gone up to 1 oz pp on some of the ones that I felt weren't that strong OOB. Usually when I order something new I am not sure about, I get at least 4 oz. to try.
smart tart
Sometimes the co will recommend an amount - I always use an ounce pp oils on my first batch - after that I adjust as necessary! And while oils from some places may be more expensive, it might be because they are more complex but only you can decide on how strong (or light) you want the fragrance to be. And I have also found that high dollar doesn't necessarily translate to high quality or "stronger" FO's.
Tree Frog
i always use 1 oz when trying a new fragrance, if it seems too strong, which is seldom for me, then i'll decrease the amount for next time
OutlandishLady
I use from .7 to 1 oz PPO as a rule too. I do love the suppliers that offer a nice 2 oz sampler that way I can make a single batch in the Kelsei 9 bar. I'm too lazy to make a1 pound batch right now, but I need to start so I won't have all this soap lying around, lol.
Carriegsxr6
I use 1oz of fragrance oi for 25oz soap oils, then i add 7oz of my 33% water/lye solution. So all together its a 2lb batch. I find its enough fragrance.
