heirloomoriginals
I did my first batch of tarts with these today (mixed 30% 6228 with it for some hardness). My colors are a bit dull and I would like brighter colors. I used the liquids from WSP. I used an average of 10-15 drops/ 8 oz. I am guessing I just need to use more color. I would love to learn to use this wax as I can get both of them locally (which saves a TON on shipping, as we all know. Any tips? I poured around 150.Steph
Katesmom
Hi Steph, Seems like 10-15 drops per 8 oz. is ALOT of dye. Did you notice a chemical smell? Anyway, I have never used the c-3,(I have used the eco puresoy and ezsoy) I also have used the 6228.I would try using color diamonds instead of more liquid. JMHO!! heirloomoriginals
I am making tarts and haven't burnt any yet, but I can only smell the yummy fragrances that I used in them. I have dye blocks that I may try the next time, just to compare results. i would rather use liquid because it is so much easier!Steph
KFTS
that is a ton of dye, I use about 8 drops per pound, lonestar or RE dyes. You're not going to get as bright of colors with C3 as paraffin candles
wookie130
I use Reddiglo dye chips with C-3, and end up with vibrant color...similar to what I'd achieve in paraffin with the same product...that's one of the benefits of C-3...it colors a bit more easily than most soys. Carriegsxr6
I too use 8 drops max per lb of C-3 wax. Sometimes I have gone up to 16 drops per lb of wax, but thats only if i am trying for a dark black or deep red.
