friendlyMOM
Do silky suds have a shelf life? Wanted to make up a bunch for Christmas, thanks
MarsBars
I think it does. I tried a batch, accidentally left my bag open and it turned. Not sure if it was the open bag or what. I do know that dead sea salts are a natural preservative though. Next time I whip up a batch I plan on using a preservative.
Carrie
What kind of preservative are you planning to use?
maryann
I'm thinking that if you left your product exposed to air, the dead sea salts became mushy and ruined the batch. I'm curious as well to know what perservative you'd use. Over time the product scent would change mine did, I'm thinking from the baking soda. I now mix up everything but the salts and FO and store in an airtight container and add the other 2 ingredients when I'm ready to sell/use it. I add colorant to the salt (I use either bath or sea salt) and mix my FO w/ dendritic salt. HTH :smiley2:
Scented
Yeah and humidity plays a factor in this too. The mix can start clumping.
maryann
I left that word out above, but that's what makes DSS all mushy , plus the CAcid reacts w/ the humidity as well. Airtight is good!
