Carriegsxr6
I don’t have much to spend on packaging, so I bought a roll of craft paper and a roll of twine from the dollar store. I was thinking of this idea. What does everyone think?
Luci
Personally, I think it looks just as good as any I've seen, and much better than a lot I've seen. You are quite creative, and it doesn't appear "cheap" to me at all. :highfive: I'm curious as to how you printed those from a roll of paper. Would you share your technique? kalamazoo
Hi Carrie, I do not make soap, but I like your packaging. I do however think that the twine gets in the way of the text a bit - maybe it does not need the bow. Just my two cents worth, but it is different to what I have seen. Budgie
I think it looks really good too. I would like it better though if the bow was off to the side so you could read the writing on the paper. I don't like how it covers up your business name and the ingredients. Other than that, very nice - doesn't look cheap.
eugenia
I think wraphia ribbon might look better then the twine. Nice and simple; I like it!
LovelyLathers
Very nice it is along the same line as I do mine. I use raffia and ribbons though and I put the ingredient label on the back side of it. some I even add a hang tag instead of a label. Hillary
I think wraphia ribbon might look better then the twine. Nice and simple; I like it!I agree about the wraphia. But It's still a nice look as is. Very 'organic'.
Accents
I like it, looks very nice!
Carriegsxr6
Thank all of you for th input. I am going to try and re-arrange the bow and ties to be off to the side. I do like wraphia better, however the twine only cost $1 for a large roll, so I think I will have to stick with it. BTW The text is not printed directly on the paper, I printed it on clear labels then stuck them to the paper.
Scented
I'd like to see it with wrapia ribbon too, but I think they are nice and clean and don't look cheap.
prairieannie
I like the twine.. it's different. I like the whole package. Really creative stuff there! GREAT job!
LoveOfTarts
I like the twine, too. Much more creative than wraphia.
HeavenScentU
I like the twine too, but if I when I buy soap I like to see the beauty of the soap and don't like alot of wrapping. I would eliminate the twine and wraphia and just have the kraft paper. Simple is always best. I also like to read the ingredients.
flutterbye
BTW The text is not printed directly on the paper, I printed it on clear labels then stuck them to the paper.Just a tip, I went through this with candle labels and kraft paper(the big roll like you used) I simply cut the paper into 8.5x11 sheets and just printed directly on them. Got 5 labels to a sheet..It might save you some money, cause clear sticker labels can get kinda pricey. But they look GREAT! I'd at least not have the ends frayed like they are. ChristyNE
Raffia although would set it off can be costly in the craft stores (trying to cover your time crunch)...try some jute...losts less expensive and thin enough not to cover your label...I like the twine..just to thick is all... lbtddr
i did mine like that for awhile but i put the tie on the back that way it didn't cover up the label.
Michi
Like PA said, I too like it just the way it is, very creative, and I just love how you are sooo creative on a tight budget-smart cookie you are. I for one like the little "bow" and don't see a problem as that can be moved over so they can read the writing. Go with it, it's adorable. Michi
Oh duh, I just noticed that you did bows in one pic. and just knots with frayed ends on the other-I much prefer the knots, and it would be much easier and quicker too.
LynnS
Very creative for such a little amount of money. How do you get it to stay together?Tying holds it I assume??I wondered if taped etc. I like the twine.I use wraffia for my lotion/liquid soap.Pretty colors but it can break easy.Must handle with care but twine is STRONG.LynnS
Carriegsxr6
Thank you all for the additional opinions. I will go ahead and make some without the twine and just the kraft paper sash. Maybe have both with and without the twine. (there is no tape holding it) I am also going to try cutting the kraft paper to regular sheet size and running it through the printer. :highfive:
VerticallyEnhanced
Super cute!!!! I like the look of it. I like the twine, but as someone said, the jute would be a bit less "fayable" (is that a word...lol), is very cheap and the is more of a "kraft color". I just get it at wally world. MsDammit
I do the same only with raffia, just print out the labels on plain paper and laminate 'em.
northkountry
I think it looks great! Very unique...

ignitethesenses
I like it! It looks nice, definately not cheap. I like the knot better than the bow. I especially like the jagged edges on the kraft paper
