Lynn73
Hi everyone . I'm new to the candle ind. My question is...Is soybean oil flakes the same as 100% soy waxCan I use either in a candle. I know it will be soft. Any help! Thanks Lynn
Candlebuddy
I don't think so. My understanding is that soy oil flakes are used in processing food products ... it's not the same as soy wax for candles. Maybe someone else can help out here. topofmurrayhill
100% soy wax is flaked vegetable shortening. It sounds like "soy oil flakes" would be that, but I've never heard it referred to that way so I'm not sure.Whether it's good for candles might depend on the extent to which it's hydrogenated, or basically the melt point. Carriegsxr6
can you tell us where you purchased these from? A grocery store or a candle supply store?
NoOneSpecial
I received a sample of the GW464 and it said "shortening flakes" on the sample bag.
