heirloomoriginals
I know there are many of us looking to reach out to the guys in our lives. I would love to find an after shave that wasn't expensive. How about aloe gel (clear of course) mixed with FO and put in a pump?Steph

gloworm
Hey Steph, Long time no see!! I have a 20 oz pump bottle of clear aloe gel in my basement. I'm pretty sure I got it at Walmart. Not sure of price but thinking it was around 3 dollars. Thanks for the idea-I've been wanting to do after shave for hubby too. Wonder what the ratio of witch hazel to aloe would be? Just till you get the consistancy you want?? Ummm-woodland breeze would be good in this!!HTH, Glo
macyboutique
These are not my recipes just some I found... 2/3 aloe vera gel, couple drops of glycerin, few drops of fo, and fill bottle with witch hazel and shakeThe next one doesn't use aloe vera gel but here it is 1/8 c witch hazel, 1/4 c distilled water, capful of glycerin and fo or eoI have not tried either of these recipes but i do plan on trying the first one tonight when I find my glycerin
heirloomoriginals
Hey Gloworm!! I will have to look again or maybe when I am in Indiana again.Steph
macyboutique
I did make the after shave using aloe vear gel, witch hazel, glycerin and fo. It came out kinda of gel like texture. I guess if I use a pump perhaps it will be better.

heirloomoriginals
Thanks for the tip about the pump, Macy. I am planning on packaging my regular 8 oz lotion in the boston rounds with pumps, so that might work with the after shave as well.Steph

Tossing around a 2nd annual Two Birds Swap-I'm almost out of your lucious "Yes" fragrance roll on. I've used it sparingly.Glo
ladysj
I found these links while I was searching for after shave recipes. They might be helpful. I would think FO could be used instead of EO'shttp://www.pinkfridge.com/hab_aromatherapy/recipes.htmhttp://www.spaindex.com/HomeSpa/AfterShave.htm
macyboutique
Thanks for the site...recipe that is made with vodka cannot be sold, huh? I am thinking adding this to my men baskets. Still will experiment though.
ladysj
You should be able to sub the vodka with 91% alcohol. I'm going to try it this weekend.
