ah-soy
Working on my southwest line of candles and thought I'd try out a leather fo but just can't get around it to pour it straight. Any good ideas on what to blend it with?
carol k
drakkar type, mc's cool water type, just about any men's colognes go great with leather, also cimmamon, vanilla.
sockmonkey
I'm not crazy for leather either, but I thought of these (never having tried any of them):leather & lime (lime is very hot in fragrance now)leather & sage leather & cherry (sounds nasty, but do you think 2 negatives might equal a positive?)leather & patchouli (I hate, hate, hate patchouli, but I figure if anybody likes leather, they will probably like patchouli too)
ah-soy
Those sound good...I have vanilla, lime and some cinnamon...I'll try a couple of experiments!

Scented
Mix it with dirt ... J/K!!OK how about a grassy smell? Something ozonic? Not something wet, wet though ... leather stinks enough on it's own when it smells dry.How about Leather and Vanilla (French maybe) for a leather and lace candle? sockmonkey
I thought of a couple more...leather & mintleather & coconutThey sound kooky, but I could see a guy using them in his apartment.
Candybee
I've mixed it with musk for my men soaps.
ah-soy
Gosh soooo many good ideas...now I have to order more sample sizes than I already have just so I can try these blends!I'm going to first try leather with french vanilla...any suggestions on the ratios? Candlebuddy
I'm not a leather person, so I would mix 2 parts vanilla to 1 part leather. I think if you mix it 50/50, the leather would overpower the vanilla ... just my opinion.
carol k
i agree with candlebuddy, 2parts to 1 part. you can do a q-tip test to see what ratios you like the best.
Scented
definitely more vanilla than that putrid leather lol! you might even try a qtip test at 3:1, just for comparison to the 2:1.
Ron Meyers
Mixed 12 with CURVE for a show this weekend and sold out earlier today. Called it "Men's Night Out". Throws very well in soy.Ron
