SatinDucky
There's probably a technical explanation, but that's out of my area. About the only difference I know of between the pre-primed wicks and priming them yourself, is that they use a high temp wax for it. Whether you use raw(unwaxed) or primed(waxed) will depend on how you're wicking your candles. For freestanding candles, pillars/votives etc., use primed if you're using wick pins. If you're wicking the mold before pouring, raw works fine. I'm not big on containers yet, but IMO it probably doesn't make too much difference either way. For non zinc wicks the primed with help give them some stiffness, but raw will absord the melted wax so it should burn ok anyway. I prefer buying raw and priming/tabbing it myself, so I can make it whatever size I want and don't waste wicking
