IndyGirl
What is the best way to liquidate a candle factory? Mainly FO's & large melters, dyes etc.
awickedscent
I would suggest a starting point of the classifieds here on CT
IndyGirl
I'm not talking turkey fryers and small amounts of fo...........
Raggedy Dani
If it's something big. possibly Classie or Ebay would be best shot. Dani
BubbleBath
List it in the classifieds here first (where you know a lot of chandlers hang out).... What's not sold can then be listed on eBay.
sudsnwicks
You've nothing to lose by listing in the classifieds here. Plus there's a good chance someone here might be interested since we have a larger concentration of candle makers here compared to places like ebay. IndyGirl
I suppose the oils could be broken down to pounds....one of the melters is a 450 lb. water jacket, it needs a new heater but they are only $240 from watlow or ces. It's big though and can't be shipped! A brand new one is $1450. My friend is thinking about it and will decide by the end of the week whether to sell out. If she does decide to we will break down the liquid dyes and fo to more saleable quantities. It's kind of a difficult decision for her.....I'd buy her out but, that would take way more $ than I can afford!
sudsnwicks
Well, you never know. If it's too big to be shipped, there might be someone near enough to you who might be able to come get it. Classifieds are free to use, so you've got nothing to lose.
barncat
I'd post in large quantities first and see what you can rid of, then try the smaller amounts
ah-soy
When I liquidated my craftshow stuff years ago I used a local auction house. They came and picked it all up, organized it and sold it at their monthly auction. Of course I had to pay them a percentage but it was worth it to me!
