AnjieBurdett
I have been reading up on the old gallery threads and someone had said "don't forget to hug the candle before your 2nd burn" .... what does that mean exactly?? I know I have to get used to this terminology :embarasse I take it it doesn't mean giving your candle some love and affection LOL.Anjie,x. judyvega
when the wax is still warm and pliable after burning you can "hug" it, meaning to turn it in toward the wick so that it will consume itself down as it burns (especially if it is bulging)
Candybee
Yeah! Put your hands around the top in a circle and press lightly til its rounded inwards at the top.I always "hug" my pillar candles!
NattyCat
but you can't hug a soy pillar - it'll crack.

Candle Man
Yes like others have said you hug paraffin pillars not soy or palm. For the 3" diameter pillars I have successfully mastered my own paraffin wax blend and wick, that they self consume without any hugging needed.
