Mnhorsemom
I tried my first CP yesterday. I just unmolded it and cut it into bars. Everything seemed to go OK, got trace pretty quick with a stick blender, poured it and covered it. I peeked a few times, I'm not sure I got a gel I know the soap did get pretty warm cause I felt of it. Anyway when I cut it this morning it wasn't mushy matter of fact around the edges was almost flakey. It is not really smooth looking. I did try some of the flakes from cutting it and got a nice lather so I hope it's ok. How long should I wait to do the dreaded zap test
Carrie
I always check mine for zap when I cut it. Sometimes there is a tiny zap and that goes away in a few days. Only once did I get a big zap, yikes.Congratulations, BTW. Edited to add that.
Purple Lilac
Congratulations on your first batch. As for the dreaded "zap" test, I personally don't do that, I just wait a couple of weeks then try the soap, if it gives me a drying feeling, I let it sit a little longer.Have fun! RobinInOR
Congratulations! Just wait 3-4 days and give it a try in the sink - bet you'll be hooked in no time!
