traceyy
I have been struggling with the proper amount of fo-I make 2 lb batches. I used 1 3/4 oz that was waaaay too much but smelled great. Used 1 ounce and I think that scent burned off or it was too little. Used 1.5 oz yesterday and it seems to be too much again or I am just having issues lolWhat is the rule of thumb for cphp? kari357
Tracey, from what I've researched most use 1oz ppd, although on stronger fo's use a little less like 3/4oz ppd. Hope those with experience correct me if I,m wrong.
Misty
I have always used .5 oz of fragrance per pound of soap. My soap always seems to have a good strong smell. I do use mostly sweetcakes FO's though.
melann
When I do cphp I use .7 fo ppo.
pj'snana
I usually use 0.5 oz. per pound, unless it is not a strong fragrance and then I use 3/4 ounce. I take a little bit of the cooked soap out in a small bowl and stir a bit until it cools and add the fo to that. Then I add it back to the crockpot of soap. It doesn't burn off if I do it that way.Dorothy
Gene
It all depends on the quality of the fo, I have several premium fo's from IFT that only require 1oz for a 3.5# batch
TexasBrat
I usually add .5 per pound but have been thinking of upping the amount on certain fo's that I know are weaker. Just make sure you soap comes down in temperature before adding your fo if it has a low flashpoint. I try to buy fo's with only high flashpoints. kidsngarden
I use .7 oz for ppo as well, some strong ones like AH neroli, lemon verbena, and anything with lavendar I use at .5 oz ppo. Bethany
AkainePSP
I am very new to this myself but I was told .7 to 1 oz per #.
