Wick'n'Wax
in the finished product?I'm making a hot chocolate and was doing a scoop of cream on the top. The hot choc candle is already wicked, so I need the scoop of cream to have a hole in to slot on top of the candle (following me so far?) Should i put a wick pin in when its nearly set or wait till its set and force a pin thru to make a hole?thanks x
NattyCat
why don't you try each method and see which works for you?
Wick'n'Wax
Hiya Nat, wise words, sometimes the obvious needs pointing out to you lolol.I'm trying without first and will try and get a wick needle thru after. Not sure if its going to look alright anyway, its really an ice cream scoop. Jcandleattic
most silicone molds are self sealing, so you can either needle a wick right through the silicone, or you can put a wick pin through the silicone. I use wick pins with my silicone molds all the time. I've never has a problem with it.
Wick'n'Wax
well that turned out well, NOT! lolIt's not quite white so doesn't look good, and its just looks like a 'boob' (polite word) in a mug lmao
NattyCat
you'd be better off using whipped wax. It looks a lot more realistic.Nat
Wick'n'Wax
hi nat,yep I've done whipped wax before, I can whip it ok, but its 'blobbing' it (getting it into a nice looking dollop) lolI put it on with a spoon, but can't figure how to shape it
