SuzieCandleMaker
Due to Hurricane Katrina - I have some candles that have been in the mold for about a month now - I am finally getting some time to get back to candles. I have removed them from the mold - but just wanted some input if anyone else out there has done the same. Are they ruined?
Rsvlbrat
I can't see them being ruined. If you are moving or something, it's a good idea to put wax in the mold to protect it. HTHI know I've left wax in the votive molds for a few months, no problem.

sharyl55
Glad to hear things are getting back to normal for you. And I learned something new - a daily event on this board. Didn't know about pouring wax in molds when moving to protect them.
BruceCarvesWax
I bet I could find one or two molds in my basement that have had wax in them for 20 years. The wax will help the mold keep its shape and most important keep dust out and the little oil content in the wax can help keep the inside of metal molds from rusting. *(unless you had water in your wax... that would be bad news) Bruce
SuzieCandleMaker
thanks guys - i will be "unmolding" tonight - hope all is well. On a brighter note - i figured after the hurricane and all the damage - the candles biz would be real slow - not so, since the hurricane, I have had 4 people book parties and some of my customers calling me and telling me that if it weren't for me - they would have been in the dark. That has totally shocked me and needless to say - I am very overwhelmed - got a lot of candles to make!!
