newbie recipe

Here is my recipe I am thinking of going with.

Need advise from the pros here, you all seem so much more in tune with these numbers than me. I used soap calc and I think I have what I need in this recipe.

castor 5%

crisco 25%

coconut 25%

Lard 25%

olive 15%

mango butter 5%

hardness 42

cleansing 17

condition 53

bubbly la 22

cream la 29

iodine 59

ins 156

Are these number in the right area for a sudsy and conditioning hard bar?

Crisco and Lard pretty much act the same way in soap. I am not sure why you would use both, I would drop one of them. You only have 20% soft oils, which can make your bar a little drying, you should up your olive oil for sure. Crisco is pretty much hydronated soybean oil, so if you are wanting soybean oil, I would go for the liquid oil instead of the hard type, you would get more benifits out of the liquid type.

If you wanted to add liquid soybean oil

Not sure why I chose crisco, but I was thinking of sunflower oil and olive oil but couldnt get numbers to work for me as far as hardness

I will give it another try without crisco

If you want to add sunflower, then look at the second recipe I listed and sub the soybean oil for sunflower oil. :cheesy2:
