lindanelson
Hi and welcome to candletech and candlemaking.Do you have a wick picked out to start with for each size? Sampler packs of wicks are good to start with.I would pick a container, (any size you want), a wick that might work and go for it. There are several wick guide charts to go by. The one that I tend to use the most is www.candlescience.com With Soy, I usually go up two sizes from what they suggest. Have fun and good luck. This is a great board to ask questions and get answers from. Remember, there is no dumb question. Use the search feature first though. There's alot of information here. Candle Man
Hello and Welcome.I would say the 8oz is the easiest to start with.
mizbizzyb
Welcome to the addiction!! I agree with CandleMan the 8oz is easier to start with
Jami
Welcome aboard!!I agree with 8 oz. The 16 oz is a waste of wax if you are just learning and testing. 4 oz is too small if you are pulling out the wicks and testing them.8 oz is "just right" to me. Candlebuddy
Welcome. I test in an 8oz jar ... mainly because this is my best seller. I use a 50/50 soy blend and begin testing with a CD10. If testing in pure soy, I would go up a couple of sizes.
SatinDucky
Welcome to the CT board and candle making You can choose to start with whichever size you want, because each will have to be tested on it's own anyway. Unless you stick to making only one exact size/shape, that is
