You mean as a mold I assume. You can use silicone pans as molds - many do it. If it's a red pan though the color can come off on your soap for the first few batches. (I think Carrie was saying you can use any metal for MP, but for CP you cannot use aluminum but stainless is fine).

For volume, the easiest route is probably to weigh the empty pan and then weigh it filled with water. Measure the water and multiply by 0.4 to get the ounces of oils in a batch to fill the pan - KWIM?
