Valzway
I am very new to candle making (about 2 weeks new ) So far I have made 3 batches of candles.... They seem to feel kind of oily.. I am measuring 1oz of FO per lb. of wax..... plus however many drops of color dye needed to obtain the color I was looking for.... I am trying to find out what type of soy wax I have been buying but my supplier wont return my EMails.. Does the type matter?? BTW The cold and hot scent throws are WONDERFUL... they just dont look professional yet...
Vicky_CO
The type of soy can make a very big difference. Are you weighing your FO on a scale. How hot is your wax when you add your FO? How long are you stirring you wax and FO combo? A lot of factors could be the cause of the oily feel.

Then I pour..
kandlekrazy
Do they look oily or just feel oily when you rub your hand on them? Soy is very soft and does have an oily feel to it, but your candle tops shouldn't look like there is oil on top of the wax.
