sharyl55
I was using my new (bought in 2007) Chicago Heat Gun, purchased from Harbor Frt, today and it just stopped working. I used it to heat a mold to clean it. Turned off the gun, wiped the mold, turned on the gun and nothing. I've checked the circuit breaker, tried different outlets and still nothing. I had my light wt. embossing tool from Michaels for 3 yrs before it gave up the ghost. Now my heavy duty heat gun doesn't even last 8 months!!It is a 2 speed heat gun. I'm guessing it is something with the on/off/speed selection switch but am clueless on how to fix the darn thing. Any ideas?? I am desperate! Thanks
Sharon in KY
Check the warranty, it might be good for a year.
logcabinmomma
In my experience, Harbor Freight has great prices, but horrible product. See if you can get it fixed under warranty. If not, buy a different brand with a national name.-Kristi
ShelleyBean
I have no clue how to make the gun work again, but I'm sure sorry to hear yours is on the blink
sharyl55
I'm screwed. It has a limited 90 day warranty and I've had it 8 months.
Scent Cellar
Try Home Depot for your next one and get a Wagner.
Maggie
I bought a Wagner at Lowes about 4 years ago and it's still going strong. I use it a lot. Now I probably jinxed myself.....LOLMaggie
sharyl55
I have an Ace Hardware about 25 miles away and a local building supply place. I'll call both tomorrow. Lowe's and Home Depot are across the bay and then I'd have to pay a $17 toll. Oh the joys of living in the boondocks.

sharyl55
Checked with the local building supply place. They have a 2 speed Wagner so I'm off to buy it. Guess those Harbor Frt catalogs will go straight in the trash from now on.

Ace has them (they are made by Wagner, but have the Ace name on them...or so the salesdude says??) Paid $21.00 and it's been almost a year and still going strong. It has 2 speeds, but I only use low.
