MsDammit
"We recommend a soap test batch of 1 lb of fat with 1 to 2 tsp of finely ground luffa". I am confused about the fat part-does that mean oils? I've never used this stuff before & 2tsp for a 2lb batch doesn't seem like enough. Don't have enough time to do a search, I am right in the middle of soaping.
Meridith
I personally would not go over 1 tsp per pound of oils. I've used this before in my soaps and as with any addition of any scrubbie ingredient, a little goes a long way. Luffa is very scrubbie so I use even less than any other scrubbie ingredient when I use it.
MsDammit
Thanks Meridith, I went with 1 1/2 tsp.
MsDammit
Ummm I tried out a sliver of the soap-can't see or feel the luffa.
Meridith
I could feel it when I used it and found it to be very scrubbie at a small amount. You must have tougher skin than me.
Carrie
Ummm I tried out a sliver of the soap-can't see or feel the luffa.Try out that sliver all over your body in the shower. If you still can't feel it after using it all over...Well, what Meridith said...
MsDammit
Sounds like a plan, I'll test it out in the shower, I'm sure other parts aren't as tough skinned as my hands, LOL.
