pureblisscandles
hello everyone I am new to making candles- i just started making them in Nov- I ordered my supplies from Candle and supplies and have been testing my soy wax GW 444 and so far I am not getting a good hot throw. Some have been curing 2 almost 3 weeks. Anyone have experience with this. I am not sure if it the scents or wax. I am about to order from BCS since they are closer to me and i have read nothing but good things about them. any suggestions.I have about 30 different scents from Candles and Supplies I got them on sale. most of them $5.00 for 16 oz on the sale they had the day after thanksgiving. I guess you get what you pay for huh? thanksLysa

carol k
i use gb415 pure soywax. of the 6 oils i've tried from c&s's $5.00 sale i have had only 1 that has not thrown really great for me. of course i only cured it 1 day so i will retest it. it was the cranberry balsam. these have thrown great for me at 1.5oz pp. hazelnut creme (very strong, can definately cut back on amount used), spiced pumpkin nectar, fireside tea (which is now called cinnamon spice & everything nice), love it, cedar spice wood, vanilla pods (alittle softer, but still a nice throw).try adding you fo at a lower temp. around 135-140 degrees. that should help. Darbla
Maybe they were just a bummer in the GW 444 wax mentioned at the beginning of this thread? Carol K said she had good luck with them, so I was wondering if anybody else had since this thread was started? I haven't ordered from them before but my interest was piqued by some praise for them in another thread, which led me to search and find this one.Darbla
debscent
I would check with suppliers close, C&S are high and their quality is hit or miss.

CathyinME
Don't use the same wax as you but I 've had good luck with the Rhubarb Apple, Fusion Sea & desert Rain from C&S $5 sale. As with any supplier, some are hit & miss.
