8-GRAN-ONES
I know you all must get tired of all my newbie questions...But I do have another one...I have spent hours on the soap calc, trying to get a goodbalanced soap...I have took into consideration, all the advice given herethat it does not always take the expencive oils to get good soap..My question, would you rather have more creamy or lathering bar?Or is it just a preference? SpaceGirl
I'm not a soapmaker, but as a consumer I prefer lather. It's a psychological thing -- if I can see the lather I know that the soap is on my skin and getting me clean. The one catch to that is I prefer lots of small little bubbles that stay over big poofy bubbles with no oompfh. The best of both worlds is lots of big bubbles that stay, stay, stay!HTH
mystical_angel1219
IMO~ it is preference.I prefer creamy lather as I have dry skin.
CBE
I like both... I like it bubbly... but creamy. But not too creamy... I think it's just like Spacegirl said... it's a psychological thing. LOL When you see more lather... you feel like your getting clean.
beau's mama
I like it creamy. It's better for my (once super dry) skin. Lathery bars seem to suck the life out of me.
Scent Cellar
I am a big bubble fan and I formulate my soap for bubbles.

wildangel112
I enjoy bubbles, but my skin seems to prefer creamier lather so I opt for that. Rena
Jadryga
As a consumer, creamy. I look at lots of lather, and I can practically feel the moisture being washed out of my skin, though that might be somewhat psychological
Ruina
lots of glorious bubbles
HeavenScentU
I love bubbles, but it has to have some cream. If all I see and feel is cream soap tends to feel slimey to me.
Carriegsxr6
the one thing i stick with in every recipe is 25% coconut oil. this always gives me enough floaming lather. then i add other hard oils like shea or plam oil that give me the creaminess and stability. Meridith
I prefer a combo of both. I like to have a bit of a creamy feel to my soap lather.
Scented
I want lots of bubbles too. This thread cracked me up because I spent about 6 months or more in pursuit of more and more and more bubbles. I drove some people bonkers. Now I'm down to where I like my soap for the most part, but have to change it again. So far the changes are OK, but I may have to refigure my bubbles. You will get there. Now, to answer your question ..... I prefer both! I have worked long and hard to come up with a recipe that is perfect for my skin. It has to be creamy lather. Bubbles themselves don't thrill me now like they did when I was a kid! LOL

MarieJeanette
I want it ALL. The best of both the creamy rich lather and fluffy bubble worlds.Me, too! I like to formulate my soaps in such a way that the bubbly and creamy numbers are very close together, but with the bubbly number being one or two points higher than the creamy number.MarieJeanette
