abitofheaven
Im new to the candle world, im having a problem with my votives. My votives dont burn evenly they just melt down in center and leave a shell like look, plus they dont last long. Burn about 1 hour. Im using Naturewax P-2 soy and votive size wicks. Any help will be appreciated.
Gdawg
What kind of wicks do you use? Use said Votive size but are they like the CD's or LX's ect. I dont use your wax type but with the Ecosoya PB I use an lx14 or an RRD29. I would suggest to try a different wick and see if that helps, also how much FO are you putting in with the candles more is not always better. You should be able to get a Full mp and have the candle last 15hrs
Carriegsxr6
yep, those wicks are proably votive size wicks meant for paraffin wax. soy wax is harder to burn. you need a bigger wick. For my votives I use RRD 34s
Sharon in KY
I'd say you need a smaller wick size if they only burn for an hour. I know some suppliers sell wicks by calling them container or votive or t-lite wicks but that way you never really know what you are using. I have a friend that has been making candles for years and has no ideal what wick she uses. She always says "what ever they give me". Hope this isn't the case with you. I use a different wax so have no ideal what to tell you except I think you should wick way down. My votives last about 15-20 hrs with a LX 12.
