Sick & tired of Cargill's V1

I'm sick and tired of the dreaded cracks when I make my tarts with the V-1. I want to use a different wax so I'm open for any suggestions. Want to stick with a soy!!Thank You

Ecosoya PB is awesome for tarts!

They release from the molds perfectly, throw is excellent!!

I tried the EcoSoya CB Advanced for my container wax and was very disappointed with the hot and cold throw, hardly anything there compared to the Nature Wax. I've read where alot of chandlers are disappointed with the throws with EcoSoya wax?Confusing??

Hi Ecosoya PB is great for tarts. I have been using it for over a year now and have never had any issues with it. I woulden't use anything else. Regina

I agree the container wax stinks. But the PB wax is GREAT I get a good HT and CT. Regina

The Ecosoya CBA is the one with throw issues.

The PB is great!! Makes beautiful tarts that smell wonderful!! I get compliments on my tarts all the time!!

Someone had told me to use 3 oz of C3 to V1 and it works great.

Either add some c-3 to soften the wax up a bit or try cargills new P-2.

You have to try Ecosoya PB for tarts. Great throw and great looking tarts.

I have been finding Ecosoya PB quite satisfactory for soy-based wax pillars and votives. But if you are simply making tarts, why not simply mix it with some C3? Others have found this to be a satisfactory solution to the cracking isues.

I use Ecosoya PB for tarts and have had decent results. Occasionally I'll have to pop them in the freezer to get them to release, but no cracking like with the V-1, that's for sure.

I'm also using the palm/coconut wax from Mill Creek (Mill Creek's All Natural Pillar/Votive Wax is how it's listed on the site). It takes longer to set up and release, and it's more expensive, but it makes a mighty fine tart.

For what it's worth, I tried mixing C-3 with V-1 and it didn't make things any better. I wouldn't touch V-1 with a ten-foot pole (which is sad, because I could get it right up the road from Lone Star and save a ton on shipping costs!).

Thanks everyone for your suggestions. I think I'll try the Ecosoya PB and see how that works. I live close to BCN where I can drive and pick it up so that will save me money!!
