flutterbye
I sell a large line of hurricane candles but have been going back & fourth lately on if I should change my webite, labels, brochures, etc. to refer to them as Luminaries or wax lanterns maybe. I get alot of people asking why I would call them hurricane candles. The other names do sound prettier too. What do all of you who make these refer to them as? Do you think customers would respond to them more if they were renamed? Any input would be appreciated, cause I just dont know..
Mom2
Can you post a picture here or a link to your site so we can see the sort of candles you are referring to?
heirloomoriginals
I think Luminary is more appropriate, at least most people would know what they are as opposed to hurricanes.Steph
Vicky_CO
I always thought Luminary sounded better also.
coconut
Not sure what your target market is-but if you are anywhere that gets real hurricanes, I would call them Luminaries. Hurricanes leave a bad taste in my mouth....
flutterbye
Thanks guys! I've decided to change everything named "hurricane" to "luminary" I never thought about how someone might be reminded of an actual hurricane and be turned off.
