Jeana
Has anyone tried these in soaps? I'm wondering if it would help make a harder bar without changing the outcome of a recipe too much.
Carriegsxr6
I would add Palm Stearic Acid instead. Much cheaper and it would aid in the hardness and creaminess of the bar. I would suggest adding 3% to your recipe, and use full water since it will speed up trace.
Tall Blonde
Yeah, if you want to harden up a bar of soap, go with the stearic. I don't know about candelilla, but carnuba is REALLY hard!!!
Jeana
The 3% of the total weight of the recipe, right? I just looked on the MMS lye calculator and they do have both candelilla and carnuba in their list. Good point about the full water.
Carriegsxr6
use 3% of your total oils in your recipe. Do not include the water and lye.MMS also has the Stearic Acid as well and its much much cheaper.
