oakbrookcandles
Added 2 types of containers. After toying with just one scent and getting a general idea of what may work in these 2 containers we made 2 of each scent. The first container is a standard 8 oz Tin. The second is a 10 oz Apothacary jar.17 different fragrances, 34 candles total all lit in the garage! First time its smelled nice in there.Which brings me to a question. How does everyone else do their testing? Edited November 20, 2009 by oakbrookcandles
topofmurrayhill
17 fragrances in two different containers is way too much to work on at once, unless you've hired a team.
oakbrookcandles
Hardly. Testing all of them with 18. After a good 4 hour repeated burn is established will adjust wicks and try again. All in good records. ;-) We have always added our jars this way. Its all in trial and error. Most will fail but some will work well. This method works for us and produces a safe well burning candle. topofmurrayhill
So you weed out fragrances along the way too. Gotcha.

samandkennasmom
Wow, I have all I can do to test two at a time, how do you know which one your getting a good hot throw from with so many? Hugs~Michele
Dana
Hope you have that garage heated.... cause I get different results when test burned in a 72 degree room verses my cold office at work, 55-60 degrees.
oakbrookcandles
We usually look for good burn first. If they burn good then they get burnt by themselves to test for hot throw. The garage area is heated to 70 degrees. Out of that first run there were 11 good burns and 6 that need a different wick. Out of those 11 9 have a good throw so will be retesting those.Testing on a larger amount is time consuming and irritating but the end results will speak for themselves.Laid off from the " real Job" so helping the Mrs. out with testing... ;-)Got several notebooks always taking notes.
