sawdustcottage
What is the approxiamte lenght of time a 1 oz tart throws off scent? I drop them into a little jar & heat 'em on an electric warmer and have done so for years. But it seems that they lose their scent quicker now-a-days. I use j223 (if I make 4 oz wickless) and a votive wax when I use the 1 oz mold. Thanks all!
Fern
It really depends on how strong the scent is. I have some tarts that last 8-10 hours and a few that will last for about six. I think it also depends on how hot your burner gets. If it's super hot, I would think that it would burn off the scent more quickly. If I can't get at least 8 hours out it I usually won't make them using that scent again.
Sharon in KY
Try compairing the J223 to the votive wax throw in the same scent. I think container wax last longer. I have some scents that last for days in a tart, others just good on first day and weak the next. I most always use 1.5 oz per lb of wax... sawdustcottage
The J223 does last much longer when I pour it into a small 4oz jar or baby food jar, than the votive wax does. 8-10 hours is about what I have gotten out of the tarts (votive) but I had been curious as to other people's experience with them. Thanks! Carrie
I use 6228 and 6% fo for my 1oz tarts. I melt mine at work and usually get at least 2 eight hour shifts out of them.
Pam W
I've been using 1343 and also Peak's staight paraffin and like Carrie, get good throw for a couple days (burn 4-5 hrs daily) At the moment, I have a Peak's paraffin tart on the warmer (Cornucopia) and it has been there for 4 days and still going strong (20+ hrs) -- but this is, of course, a miracle tart:cool2:
MaryinCary
I use 4794 for my tarts and get a good 15 hrs out of them. Sometimes I add a very small amt of J50 to them and don't notice much of a difference. HTH
DonnaGA
Did you get a new warmer? What is the wattage?
