Sharon in KY
I just made Vanilla Lace candles for a Wedding in October ... awesome scent. What does Vanilla Lace smell like, is it like Vanilla Velvet from BCN?
Karen M
I think vanilla lace is a VS dupe.
Candlebuddy
Yes, it is a dupe. I used the one from CandleScience. It smells awesome ... vanilla with a just a touch of musk (to my nose anyway). Some customers only smell vanilla.
elfcat
Is there a "theme" for the wedding? I love strawberries and champagne or wedding cake for weddings.
moniek
The bride is my soon to be daughter in law, she likes the fall scents, hillbilly homebrew from NG. But I wasnt sure about that for a wedding reception.....
Bernadette
I'll probably be voted down here, but I do an awful lot of weddings and have found that if food is being served, it's best not to use fragrance. Quite a few people these days find that candle fragrance can interfere with their sense of taste. Many times the candle scent has different ingredients than the actual item odor they are simulating. I can tell you of several instances where no one said anything about the food at the wedding, but afterwards, it came out that they thought things tasted funny....:tiptoe:

I was taught years ago not to have scented candles at food events, which is why you will rarely find them used in restaurants. And at wedding receptions you normally also have to contend with the fragrance of fresh flowers. What smells yummy to the bride when she picks out a candle fragrance can be nauseating mixed with the aromas of food and flowers.
Sharon in KY
I did a Apple Jack type FO at a much reduced fragrance load, smelled really soft. She wanted a rusty/orange color. Did another with same type scent for a Christmas wedding in red.Guess I don't go to really high class weddings cause I don't really smell the food. Don't do a scent at a wedding reception.....too many people, and some of them may be bothered by a candle scent!! Just my 2 scents....I have my daughter's wedding coming up and am not going to do scents for the candles that will be lit on the tables........TABLE FAVORS...now that's a whole differents story. Scent the table favors, make them in wedding cake, and seal them. They can light them up at home!! Vanessa
Candlebuddy
I've done many weddings, never a problem with scented candles ... I'm sure it could happen, it's just never happened to me. However, if a bride has her heart set on scented candles, I always suggest light scents ... sometimes they listen, sometimes they don't!
