TexasBrat
How does one go about getting their business name as a .com? Do you find a provider? If so which is a good one? Any help appreciated. Thanks.
ebcandles
Go to directnic.comThen type in the name you want to use. They will let you know if it is taken or not and if it is, give you an alternative name.Good luck. I've been using them for the past 3 years with no issues. dai
additionally you can use www.whois.com to check for domain name availability.incidently, http://www.lunarpages.com is a web host which supports many technologies (eg. the ability to have a php BB forum just like this one) and also includes a free domain name to subscribers. Terrie
You can register with Yahoo domains to secure your name, then come back later and build your site. Yahoo was running a special the other day where you could register your name for 1 year for $2.99A lot of people also register with www.godaddy.com
LynnS
Just like all have said.I did a search typed in Domain names.com and lots of different companies.Check to see if your name is taken and then go from there.First name I picked was taken out from under me but got one now for candles and bath and body.I will go under the candle name but picked a soap name and wanted to make sure it would not be taken later. I have my 2 company nams for 3 years. It you do find someone has your name you can also have the same name just by changing a simple thing like a dash between a word.I did that for a year.__________ ___________ -_________.com LynnS
