pcbrook
Good deal but too bad there aren't any stores around me.
robertgibbens
This fryer is oil less (which should mean its not designed to have liquid in it) with a drip pan. Not sure this would work for anything but frying a turkey!

pcbrook
That is interesting because when I checked it out it said it was not available online. I will have to think on that becauase that is a good deal.
Sharon44
So, do you use this instead of the presto pot? I read it has a swing out drain valve. Could that be used for a pour spout or do you add a spout to it?
Sharon in KY
Yes, it has a spout that works great. Most use it instead of a Presto because it holds about 30+ lbs of wax. The heating coils are inside the pot, in the oil. I have been using one for several years and love it. If you do buy one go back and read the "need to know before using your Turkey Fryer". Like adding already melted wax to the fryer before turning it on. When I first use or after cleaning, you need to have the melted wax covering the coils, or it will start smoking...Bad... deb426
I use my turkey fryer for large pours and my presto for small pours (8 pounds or less). I find them both invaluable.

robertgibbens
The coils in direct contact with the wax make me very nervous. Not sure if i will use it for wax or keep it as a turkey fryer.....
Sharon44
That was my thought. I'll just purchase another presto pot instead.
CandyinVA
ive had mine for years never had any issues whatsoever. <3 mine!
robertgibbens
Lovin' my 3 Presto's, but would really love something that can hold 20 to 30 lbs of wax/scent/color. Would make for a really nice candle run for multiple candle containers all at once!! Guess frying a turkey is out!!
bugtussle
We have at least 3 turkey fryers in use at all times for melting wax, no problems with coils. We've had these going for over 5 yrs. We would NEVER try to add scent and color to the fryers. Just get a big 6# aluminum pour pot. We mix up 4# batches in glass coffee carafes. Works great.
