coconut
It depends on where you live, as shipping is the largest part of the expense. If you are in the US on the East Coast, Candlescience is a good supplier.
KLeigh
So far, I have found that for me, Candle Science has the best shipping rates for me, by far. But, I am also new to candle making and I have learned it is best to shop around. I even open several candle suppliers and put the same items in all my carts and go through the "checkout" process to the point it calculates my total with shipping to see who gives me the best rate. HorseScentS
If you're not too far from Texas, Lone Star Candle Supply is probably the cheapest.
burnt_fingers
Being on the left coast I find Peak Candles to have both good prices on wax and shipping rates. Peak regularly sends customers emails for shipping discounts.

AlwaysWondering
You will find that all the major suppliers carry pretty much the same brand/type/size of waxes so it comes down to price of wax and price of shipping as other posters mentioned. Quality of wax will be the same for the same brand and type. That said as you start on candle making journey, like anything, same brand and type of wax can vary from batch to batch, from order to order. candleaddict
I'd check the total cost from a couple of suppliers nearby. I compared Peak with Lonestar and I'll save $50 on 5 cases of wax if I order from Lonestar, even though Peak is closer and the wax itself is cheaper. Peak must have a handling charge. IwantItgreen
Peaks shipping is cheaper once you reach 200 lbs. The things is you have to ask for the "UPS 100 weight discount". THen you save about 20%.
