soycrazy
This is something new to me and I was hoping anyone had some tips on working with MP bases with CP. Esp making embeds for inside the soap not on top. Edited February 7, 2012 by soycrazy
soapbuddy
You can put MP embeds inside the soap. I don't gel, so I don't know if they would melt.
Oceangazer1
I gel my soaps and I get a little panicky when my mp embeds get a little warm on the top. LOL You won't be able to get if they are inside like Irena said.
soycrazy
Thank you! I did read to use the low sweat bases with CP is that what you use?
Oceangazer1
Actually, I have never used the low sweat bases. I use gm, white, crystal clear, and shaving. But it still works out okay. If you embed them in the soap, pop that sucker in the freezer! LOL!!
Kitn
I have used the low sweat in CP, I didn't get it. I have done a batch that gelled on me, the M&P melted and the soap looked like it had gumdrops in it lol.
soycrazy
Ok so no gel. I'm glad you guys mentioned that, because even if I put my soap in the coldest room it will gel lol. Ocean did you get any sweating when you used those bases?

I set my molds on our porch all the time when I am soaping and I don't want them to gel. Then once I fill them I put them back on the porch for a few hours. soycrazy
Thanks Lorrie so much, such a great idea! I'll have to put it in a big tub so the squirrels and birds don't get into it lol.
Lorrie
Cover it will plastic wrap and throw in on the porch. It'll be fine.
soycrazy
I'm going to have to look for a safe place to put it if not I'll just put it in the freezer
chuck_35550
I just did some soaps that have Alabama A's imbedded in the middle (the middle of the soap is totally mp) and used a goat milk formula to pour over and put mp shavings on the top. No problems with sweat but my little babies on top of my King Cake cupcakes do sweat and I clean them off with a fine small paint brush. I like mp and cp together in the tub, its the best of both worlds IMHO. You can create almost anything you're imagination comes up with.Steve
soycrazy
Now that sounds cool steve! It's like a whole other world isn't it? I have so many things in my head and on paper I really don't know where to start lol.
chuck_35550
Start with all kinds of silicone molds and don't count any of them out for useage. I poured up some large hearts and then cut them in half and placed one part with the point up and the top heart part next to it on top and they look so cool. I've been thinking of making lots of multi-colored thin strings and then layering them throughout the soap. Week-end soaping is here!Steve
