HorseScentS
Try Googling "drowning wicks" and you'll be amazed at all the complaints, and even YouTube videos, by customers who are trying to fix, or having to return, their Slatkin or B&BW candles due to drowning wicks! lmc
Wow...interesting that many scoop out the wax and melt it in tart warmers...
Judy, USMC
The key to burning Slatkin (I bought some at BBW) is to NOT trim the wicks ... either at the start or any time during burning.
Darbla
The key to burning Slatkin (I bought some at BBW) is to NOT trim the wicks ... either at the start or any time during burning.I have wondered if this is a cure for times when you under-wick and want to use up the candle. Just leave it longer and it burns hotter.
rjdaines
Slatkin candles develop a huge melt pool and even those drowning wicks seem to be able to maintain it to some degree. Low melt point wax? In any case, I certainly see this happen to make it a quite common occurrence and I am sure they know about it but those candles and sure throw a fragrance. Beth
Wow! That is a lot of complaints... someone did say that the Slatkin guy always says, when he's on QVC, to not trim the wicks. But I couldn't find it anywhere on the BBW site.
