Noodle
Beautiful and not too dark at all. I think they capture autumn wonderfully.
EricofAZ
Try both. The ones you made are fantastic for some and maybe lighter for others.
scifichik
You could really mess with him and say that you used pastels, and maybe a trip to the eye doctor is in order I think they are beautiful. Maybe he means the color is rich, which my artist husband says is "entirely different than dark, which implies lack of appropriate depth in the color spectrum." thompsontraditions
I think they look great and dark colors are perfect for fall anyway
RollTide
I had a plum colored couch with throw pillows with all those colors and absolutely LOVED it so I LOVE your color combo! I've just searched the site for Impressionistic work and yours was the first! They look like beautiful orchids too me. I'm looking for a method that would help me make this in a soy container candle. How did you achieve this? if you don't mind my asking . . . “I don't deserve this award, but I have arthritis and I don't deserve that either.” Jack Benny
Vicky_CO
I believe it was this tech that was used http://www.candletech.com/candle-making/tutorials/draped-layer/
RollTide
@Vivky_CO thanks so much! I had looked at that technique but didn't make the connection! I don't think I can duplicate that in soy, do you? The original poster's is quiet beautiful though. “I don't deserve this award, but I have arthritis and I don't deserve that either.” Jack Benny
Vicky_CO
No I do not think it can, soy is either to soft in container soy or to brittle in pillar soy. You would even struggle with this tech in paraffin container blend.
Noodle
I already commented, but I have to say again, they look great- not too dark at all. Edited January 27, 2015 by Noodle

Looks like an impressionist painting! OMG, you are right, it does look like a painting. They are pretty candles.
